We need to figure out what it is you require: size, colours, vibe etc. I have listed custom sizes available on my commissions page but if those sizes don’t suit, I can source other sizes to suit your needs, so don’t be worrying about that. If you are unsure about what you need many people send me images of their space; I then sketch out the size I think you should go for, you then measure and we go from there. If the size is not listed I can quote you separately.

We then figure out what it is you want on your canvas. I’m guessing it might be something similar to a painting I have did before so that is always a good start. It might be a rejig of colours or it might be an image you want me to work from etc. that is all fine and we can discuss the ins and outs until we have what you want and what will suit your space pinned down.

My Fav; I get to paint it. Many of my pieces are painted in layers which means I paint them over time. When I am nearly complete I will send you a photo and it there are any little additions needed, you can shout. Timeframe, it is usually 6-8 weeks from when you order. Sometimes it can be quicker depending on what the piece is and what materials are needed.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

A commission is when you the client asks an artist to paint you a composition of your choice in both size and style. I offer repeat commissions of popular previous commissions, or you can order a bespoke commission, an image of your choosing. Have a look at my gallery, which showcases the range of work I have painted to date. It’s always good to have a piece of mine chosen that is closest to what you want as a starting point.

My commissions are full for 2025 but if you are able to wait, you can add your details to my waitlist and ill be in touch when an available slot opens.

I will send you a message to confirm your order and send you your wait time. If you need modifications to a commission and have marked that during your order or if you have ordered a bespoke commission I will contact you by phone to discuss the details.

For bespoke canvases I can paint from your canvases. Some people like a particular piece in terms of colour but want their image that’s fine but it will be quoted as a custom piece.

HOW I PRICE MY WORK:

Pricing is based on time, detail and materials used. Each bespoke commission is quoted individually before work begins to keep artwork as accessible as possible.

FRAMING OPTIONS

I work with a professional framer and can discuss styles to suit your painting and home. Framing adds approximately 2 weeks to completion time. Unframed pieces are also fine — canvas edges can be painted if preferred.

DELIVERY

Once finished, your artwork can be collected or carefully packaged and posted. Then simply hang and enjoy your original piece from Paula Quinn Artwork.
