About Me
Hi folks, Paula here, and I'm thrilled you've taken the time to visit my page.
I’m the face behind the work. I'm a mother to two boys, Brenainn and Connla, wife to Fearghal, and I'm currently on a career break from teaching to pursue painting full time. Originally from Armagh, I now live just outside Omagh in Northern Ireland (I fell for a Tyrone man).
A few years ago, I was searching for a large piece of art for my living room. Finding printed canvases unsatisfactory and originals out of my budget (remember, I'm a teacher!), I decided to create my own. Despite teaching Art, I hadn't painted in years, but I ended up liking my work enough to hang it on the wall.
Fast forward a year or two, during the second lockdown and some personal challenges, I picked up a paintbrush again. This time, it was a way to play, create, and distract myself. I tentatively posted my first piece on a faceless Instagram, and since then, I've been hooked on painting.
My work varies in style, from muted, moody pieces to vibrant, textural ones. Everything is fresh and exciting, and I enjoy exploring different styles without limiting myself.
I now work from my home studio at the foot of the Gortin Glen in Tyrone, creating both readymade and commissioned pieces. Primarily I deal directly with my customers creating paintings specific to their needs. My goal is to make original artwork and bespoke commissions affordable. Please browse my work and share your feedback—I always appreciate it.
